Discovering BASIC: A Problem Solving Approach

The type of computer used for the examples in this book was a CDC 3300. As the subtitle suggests, this book has a heavy emphasis on application code rather than the BASIC grammar or syntax, almost to a fault. Other than an occasional list, like for math functions, the BASIC language itself is discussed only sparingly. There is no appendix for syntax issues, or even an index of topics, and strings are never mentioned. Below is a sampling of pages from this book, especially key pages that mention important syntax.
