Candy Cane Inn

Candy Cane Inn, 1747 S. Harbor Blvd., Anaheim, CA 92802, (714) 774-5284

The modern, renovated Candy Cane Inn doesn't look anything like the old motel.

A fountain in front, pretty flowers nearby, and large registration building window.

Hanging flower pots on trees are all around the entrance.

Quaint, short entrance sign, surrounded by pansies.

Another blandly pleasant modern motel whose modern renovation erased most of its character. This motel dates back to at least the 1960s, when it was an inexpensive, Disney-oriented, kid-themed motel with a pair of crossed candy canes on its sign. Its success is probably partly due to its very close proximity to Disneyland's main gate. Nowadays it pretty much looks like any other motel. There are some nice flower pots hanging from the trees, and a nice fountain out front, but I can't see anything else that makes this motel special or gives it much character. The inn consistently gets positive reviews on MousePlanet, however.

Oddly, the Candy Cane Inn has its own shuttle bus to Disneyland, despite the hotel being one of the closest hotels to Disneyland's main gate.

The smiling driver of the Candy Cane Inn shuttle bus awaits more passengers.

The way it used to be...
