Sheraton Anaheim Hotel, 900 S. Disneyland Dr., Anaheim, CA 92802, (866) 716-8130
I suppose the castle-like Sheraton Anaheim Hotel was intended to be an extension of Disneyland's Fantasyland, and I'd say it succeeded. My first visit there was in 1972, when my family ate at a restaurant there when on a trip to Yosemite, and it was there and then that I picked up my first Vacationland magazine, now out of print. The issue I got there described the then-new Country Bear Jamboree.
Unfortunately, the nice horses-and-landscape painted mural inside the tower entrance has been removed, and the stained glass windows that were visible from inside the bottom of the tower are no longer visible there, both of which were delights to me as recently as 2003. The large sign in front of the hotel, which was there for decades, was also removed in the 2000s. The restaurant my family visited is long gone; now there is only a small deli called California Deli. There are still interesting sights, however: tropical salt water aquariums, a koi fish pond with crane statue, a Three Graces statue, a tiki, and photographs of real European castles in the hallways. The hotel has a slight alpine-medieval feel overall, derived from the tower, spires, pine trees, stained glass, ivy on the walls, half-timbered walls, and so on.
Technically this hotel's address is on Disneyland Drive, but its main entrance is on Ox Road, right across from TDAB's entrance on Cast Place. Old advertisements call this hotel "Anaheim-Sheraton" but modern signs in front say "Sheraton Anaheim Hotel," which is the name I am using here.
There used to be a few other hotels and businesses around this area of Ox Road in 1978, but now there is only this hotel. Most likely the I-5 expansion wiped out the others. Such addresses on Ox Road I've been able to find are the following:
