Travelers World closed in late 2006, but hasn't yet been torn down.

These old-fashioned clusters of posts made from telephone poles are found at corners near the entrance.

This is a sad one to include since it won't exist much longer, but it's another venerable old facility of historical interest. This RV park isn't quite mid-century, since I remember it being built around 1977, but it's old enough to have acquired some character and memories for many people.

Officially this facility was supposed to close on 10-1-06, then the deadline for leaving was extended to 12-31-06. In early 2007, however, a few campers still remained, some of which had to be evicted, according to the news. For a while after closure Travelers World left the car gate and pedestrian gate open, then only the pedestrian gate, and now both gates are usually closed, with a nasty new "NO TRESPASSING" sign on it.

The new complex will be called Parc Anaheim, and is supposed to have 449 condos, including 22 affordable units, with "retail uses" (shops). The Walt Disney Company is involved in the controversial new development, since that company could lose money from lost taxes since it funded bonds for Anaheim improvements, expecting to be later reimbursed from hotel taxes.

Even the days of taking pictures on the empty lot are gone (as of 3-10-07).
